I don’t think I have met anyone more passionate about the work that they do than attorney Michael Forton. Michael is the statewide Director of Advocacy for Legal Services Alabama. He was named as Legal Services of Alabama Advocate of the Year in 2008. Prior to his work with Legal Services, Michael worked as a staff attorney for Florida Rural Legal Services. Michael is a graduate of Michigan State University and you’ll hear his story of how he made his way down to the University of Alabama School of Law where he currently serves on the the law school’s Public Interest Advisory Board. I enjoyed hearing Michael’s story on this podcast. Also, if you are looking for a worthy cause to support, I’d recommend the talented and devoted attorneys and staff at Legal Services Alabama.
Henderson Cole has retained a singular focus to work as an entertainment lawyer since he was young. That focus has now paid off as he has a thriving and well-respected entertainment law practice. In fact, Henderson first came to my attention in the June, 2021 Rolling Stone magazine which featured 25 individuals who are seen as the “Future of Music.” Henderson has proposed a plan called the American Music Library which is a way he sees artists getting paid more fairly for their work and at a more rapid pace. As you’ll hear on the podcast, he is very engaging, knowledgeable and likeable and it is no wonder why he has many artists seeking his services. I think you’ll enjoy getting to know his story on this episode of the Next Lawyer Up podcast.
